Central AC, Heating and HVAC Contractor in Port Arthur, TX

Arthur Stilwell founded Port Arthur in 1895, and the city was incorporated in 1898. Earlier interest in a town in the area developed in the 1830s, but the plans didn’t solidify. For a time, the community was known as Sparks after a family living in the area. Located on the shores of Sabine Lake, the community’s earliest settlers were American Indians. Explorers from various European nations also visited the location in the 1700s. However, the area really began to thrive in connection with the opening of a port for shipping in 1899. The oil industry added to interest in the area in the early 1900s with the development of refineries by Texaco and Gulf Oil Corp. Many small communities grew together to become modern-day Port Arthur.
